I’ve always believed that our spaces do more than hold our belongings—they hold our stories.
They witness the celebrations, the everyday moments, the seasons of growth, and sometimes the seasons of healing. They shape the way we gather, rest, work, worship, and connect with the people we love most.
I’m Sarita, the designer behind Harper + Grace Interiors. For more than 25 years, I’ve had the privilege of helping families, business owners, churches, and organizations create spaces that are not only beautiful, but meaningful. Spaces that feel welcoming, functional, and truly reflective of the people who use them every day.
My Story
My journey into design began long before Harper + Grace. I grew up around construction, spent years managing commercial and residential projects, and developed a deep appreciation for how thoughtful design can impact the way people experience a space.
But my perspective changed forever through my own health journey.
As a two-time cancer survivor, leukemia survivor, sepsis survivor, and someone who has faced more than one season of uncertainty, I’ve learned firsthand that home is more than a place. During the hardest moments of life, the environment around us matters. It can bring peace in the middle of chaos. It can offer comfort when we’re weary. It can remind us to breathe, rest, and heal.
Those experiences shaped the way I see design today.
I don’t believe great design is about chasing trends or creating spaces that simply photograph well. I believe it’s about creating environments that support the life happening inside them. Spaces that feel peaceful, purposeful, and deeply personal.
That’s the heart behind every project I take on.

Every project begins with people.
Before selecting finishes, furniture, or paint colors, I want to understand how you live. How you gather. What brings you joy. What challenges you’re facing. What you want your home, office, church, or vacation property to feel like when someone walks through the door.
Design should never be one-size-fits-all. It should be built around the life you are creating.
Designed with Intention
Every choice should have a purpose.
The layout that improves flow. The color palette that creates calm. The furnishings that invite conversation. The family heirloom or treasured piece that deserves a second life in a beautifully updated space.
I believe thoughtful design doesn’t require starting from scratch. Some of the most meaningful spaces are created by blending what you already love with a fresh vision for what’s possible.

I believe the best spaces are created through collaboration.
Your style, your goals, and your story guide the process. My role is to bring clarity, creativity, and expertise to help transform your vision into a space that feels cohesive, functional, and uniquely yours.
Because my background spans both design and construction, I can help bridge the gap between concept and execution. Whether we’re selecting finishes for a new build, planning a commercial renovation, refreshing an existing home, or furnishing a vacation property, I bring both a designer’s eye and a practical understanding of how projects come together.
I also love helping clients repurpose pieces they already own, creating beautiful spaces that feel collected, authentic, and attainable.
Experience
Over the past 25 years, I’ve worked on projects ranging from mountain cabins and coastal retreats to medical offices, churches, workplaces, and family homes.

Harper + Grace Interiors is based in North Alabama, serving residential and commercial clients throughout the Southeast and beyond. I also welcome select travel projects and have a special love for mountain homes, vacation properties, and coastal design.
